TOUR # 1 -
Corfu, Achillion Palace and city tour
Depart the port
of Corfu. Upon arrival, follow your guide to visit the famous
Achillion Palace, which was constructed in 1892 for the Empress
Elisabeth of Austria. This ill-fated Empress obsessed by the
Greek hero, Achilles, commissioned a statue of Achilles “Dying”.
In 1907, the Palace was bought by Kaiser William II of Germany,
who erected a contrasting statue, of Achilles “Triumphant”.
Today, both statues are still standing in the gardens. Continue
your sightseeing tour through this beautiful and luscious
island, driving past the Kaiser’s Bridge to view, from a
distance, the convent of Vlachernae the Mouse Island, the
landmark of Corfu and Kanoni. A short photo stop will be made in
order to take some pictures. On your way back to the port, stop
in Corfu Town and visit on foot, the St. Spyridon Church, the

TOUR # 3 -
Corfu, Mon Repos Palace & city tour
|
Leave the
port of Corfu and after a panoramic drive arrive in
Palaiopolis with the nearby
Palace
of
Mon Repos. The Palace was built at the beginning of the
19th century by one of the British high
commissionaires of the Island as a wedding present to
his wife who belonged to a noble Corfiot family
“Palatianou” . In this Palace was born Phillip husband
of Queen Elisabeth of England in 1921. On the 21st
of May 1864 the Mon Repos Palace was offered to Greek
Royal family as a summer Palace.
In the
year 2000 the Palace was turned into a museum. The
museum is located in the Mon Repos estate with very
reach vegetation, especially with plants coming from
England. After wading the gardens enter the museum which
contains a large variety of exhibits, presenting the
long Corfu history: archaeological findings, furniture
and dresses of the British-rule period, flower paintings
and other mementoes of the Corfu history and life. After
your guided tour in the museum, embark the buses and
drive back to the town. During the drive marvel from a
distance the old fortress in Garitsa’s Gulf.
On your way back to the port, stop in
Corfu Town and visit on foot, the St. Spyridon Church,
